A Europass CV example is most useful when it is filled in from top to bottom, not a blank grid with "Your name here". Most pages that rank for this search show one generic sample, or a template with nothing written in it. This guide gives you five complete Europass CVs, each written for a different profile, so you can see exactly what goes into every section before you open the editor.

Each example follows the official block order: personal information, about me, work experience, education and training, language skills and digital skills. Under each one you will find why it works, so you can copy the reasoning, not just the wording. The people are fictional; the structure and the level of detail are what you should take away.

The Europass CV is a single-column, reverse-chronological document. You build a profile with your education, training, work experience and skills, then generate as many CVs from it as you need; the official Europass CV builder lets you create, store and share them in 31 languages.

The examples below are written as a table: the left column is the Europass block, the right column is what you would type into it. Three rules apply to all five:

  • Two A4 pages are enough for almost any profile. Empty blocks get deleted, not left blank.
  • Experience entries list results, not job descriptions. Two to four bullet points per role is the usual range.
  • Language levels use the CEFR scale (A1 to C2), with a separate level for each skill.

If you want the theory behind each block first, read our breakdown of the Europass CV format and its sections. If you prefer to learn from finished CVs, keep reading.

Europass CV Example 1: Graduate With No Work Experience

Lucía has just finished a degree in Business Administration and is applying for a junior analyst traineeship in another EU country. With no paid jobs to list, her education, internship and project work carry the CV.

Europass blockWhat Lucía wrote
Personal informationLucía Martín Ruiz · Valencia, Spain · +34 600 000 001 · lucia.martin@example.com · linkedin.com/in/luciamartin
About meBusiness Administration graduate with a focus on data analysis. During a six-month internship I built the monthly sales report in Excel and Power BI that the regional team still uses. Looking for a junior analyst traineeship where I can work with real datasets.
Work experience02/2025 – 07/2025 · Sales Analysis Intern · Distribuciones Levante (Valencia). Built a Power BI dashboard covering 14 product lines; cut the monthly report from two days of manual work to half a day. Cleaned and merged three years of sales data from two legacy systems.
Education and training09/2021 – 06/2025 · Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration · University of Valencia. Final project: demand forecasting for a local retailer (grade 9.1/10). Erasmus semester at Ghent University, 2024.
Language skillsMother tongue: Spanish, Valencian. English: listening C1, reading C1, spoken interaction B2, spoken production B2, writing B2. French: A2 across all skills.
Digital skillsExcel (pivot tables, Power Query) · Power BI · SQL (basic queries) · Python with pandas (coursework level) · Google Workspace
Volunteering2023 – present · Treasurer, university debate society. Managed a €4,000 annual budget and the society's grant application.

Why it works:

  • The internship is written like a real job, with a measurable result, so the CV does not look empty.
  • The final project and the Erasmus semester sit inside the education entry, where a recruiter for a traineeship looks first.
  • The volunteering block proves responsibility with money, a skill the degree alone does not show.

Europass CV Example 2: Nurse Applying for a Job Abroad

Javier is a registered nurse with seven years in intensive care, applying to hospitals in Germany. For cross-border healthcare jobs, the Europass format earns its place: the employer needs to compare qualifications and language levels from another system at a glance.

Europass blockWhat Javier wrote
Personal informationJavier Ortega López · Seville, Spain · +34 600 000 002 · javier.ortega@example.com · Nationality: Spanish
About meICU nurse with seven years of experience in adult critical care, including mechanical ventilation and post-surgical recovery. Relocating to Germany in 2027; German at B2 and preparing for the nursing recognition process.
Work experience06/2019 – present · Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit · Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío (Seville). Care for 2–3 critical patients per shift in a 24-bed ICU. Trained 11 new nurses on the unit's ventilation protocol. Member of the unit's infection-control working group since 2022.
05/2018 – 05/2019 · Registered Nurse, General Surgery Ward · Hospital de Valme (Seville).
Education and training2018 – 2019 · Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing · University of Seville.
2014 – 2018 · Bachelor's Degree in Nursing · University of Seville.
Language skillsMother tongue: Spanish. German: listening B2, reading B2, spoken interaction B2, spoken production B2, writing B2 (Goethe-Zertifikat B2, 2026). English: B2 across all skills.
Digital skillsElectronic health records (Diraya) · ICU monitoring systems · Microsoft Office
CertificationsAdvanced Life Support (ALS), European Resuscitation Council, renewed 2025

Why it works:

  • The About me states the move and the recognition process upfront, which answers the employer's first question.
  • Each language skill has its own level, and the certificate backs up the German claim.
  • Patient ratio, unit size and training work give a foreign reader concrete scale instead of a job title alone.

Note the nationality line: it is optional in Europass, but relevant here because working rights inside the EU depend on it.

Europass CV Example 3: Software Developer

Andrea is a backend developer with five years of experience applying to a remote-first company based in the Netherlands. Tech recruiters skim for stack, scale and impact, so every entry leads with those.

Europass blockWhat Andrea wrote
Personal informationAndrea Gil Navarro · Madrid, Spain · +34 600 000 003 · andrea.gil@example.com · github.com/andreagil
About meBackend developer (Java, Kotlin, PostgreSQL) with five years building payment and booking APIs. I care about tests, observability and boring, reliable deployments.
Work experience03/2022 – present · Backend Developer · TravelPay (Madrid). Rebuilt the refunds service in Kotlin; p95 response time dropped from 900 ms to 180 ms. Led the move from a monolith database to three service-owned schemas with zero downtime. Mentor two junior developers.
09/2020 – 02/2022 · Junior Java Developer · Softnova Consulting (Madrid). Maintained booking APIs for two airline clients; raised test coverage of the core module from 35% to 70%.
Education and training2016 – 2020 · Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering · Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
2023 · AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
Language skillsMother tongue: Spanish. English: C1 across all skills (daily working language since 2022).
Digital skillsJava · Kotlin · Spring Boot · PostgreSQL · Kafka · Docker · Kubernetes · AWS · GitHub Actions · Grafana
ProjectsOpen-source maintainer of a small Kotlin library for idempotent API requests (used in production by TravelPay).

Why it works:

  • Every bullet pairs a technology with a number: latency, coverage, downtime.
  • The digital skills block is a scannable list of tools, which is also what an applicant tracking system searches for.
  • The Projects block, an optional Europass section, shows initiative without stretching the experience entries.

Europass CV Example 4: Administrative Assistant

Carmen has twelve years in office administration and is applying for an executive assistant role at a European agency. Public and EU institutions are where the Europass format is most often requested, and they read CVs closely, so precise dates and responsibilities matter.

Europass blockWhat Carmen wrote
Personal informationCarmen Vidal Serrano · Zaragoza, Spain · +34 600 000 004 · carmen.vidal@example.com
About meAdministrative professional with twelve years supporting management teams in logistics and manufacturing. Strong in diary management, travel planning and supplier invoicing.
Work experience01/2017 – present · Executive Assistant to the Operations Director · LogiAragón (Zaragoza). Manage the director's diary and travel across 9 European sites. Coordinate the quarterly board meeting: agenda, minutes and follow-up actions. Introduced a shared invoice tracker that cut late supplier payments from around 20 a month to fewer than 5.
03/2013 – 12/2016 · Administrative Assistant · Metalúrgica del Ebro (Zaragoza). Front desk, purchase orders and supplier records for a 120-person plant.
Education and training2011 – 2013 · Higher Vocational Diploma in Administration and Finance (Técnico Superior) · IES Miguel Catalán (Zaragoza).
2022 · Course in Project Management Fundamentals (40 hours).
Language skillsMother tongue: Spanish. English: listening B2, reading C1, spoken interaction B2, spoken production B2, writing B2. Italian: B1 across all skills.
Digital skillsMicrosoft 365 (advanced Excel and Outlook) · SAP (purchasing and invoicing) · Microsoft Teams · Trello
Driving licenceB

Why it works:

  • The vocational qualification keeps its official Spanish name in brackets, so an evaluator can check its level.
  • The invoice tracker turns a routine job into a measurable improvement.
  • Training hours are listed, which public employers often score.

Europass CV Example 5: Career Changer

Marcos taught secondary-school maths for eight years and is moving into instructional design for corporate e-learning. His new skills are recent, so he moves Education and training above Work experience, which the Europass editor allows.

Europass blockWhat Marcos wrote
Personal informationMarcos Delgado Prieto · Bilbao, Spain · +34 600 000 005 · marcos.delgado@example.com · portfolio: marcosdelgado.example.com
About meFormer maths teacher moving into instructional design. Eight years turning complex topics into lessons for 15–18-year-olds; now building e-learning modules with Articulate Storyline and applying adult-learning principles.
Education and training2025 – 2026 · Postgraduate Certificate in Instructional Design and E-learning · Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (online). Capstone: a 45-minute onboarding course for a logistics company, tested with 30 new hires.
2012 – 2016 · Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics · University of the Basque Country.
Work experience09/2017 – 06/2025 · Secondary Mathematics Teacher · IES Txurdinaga (Bilbao). Designed the school's first blended-learning maths course on Moodle, used by 6 teachers. Coordinated the department's switch to competency-based assessment.
Language skillsMother tongue: Spanish. Basque: C1 across all skills. English: B2 across all skills.
Digital skillsArticulate Storyline and Rise · Moodle · Canva · Camtasia · SCORM packaging · Microsoft 365

Why it works:

  • Putting the new qualification first means the recruiter meets the target role before the old one.
  • The teaching entry keeps only the bullets that transfer: course design, a learning platform, assessment.
  • A portfolio link replaces the samples a teacher could not otherwise show.

What Do You Put in Each Section of a Europass CV?

Put the five examples side by side and the same patterns repeat. This table condenses how each profile used each block, so you can find the closest match to your own situation:

SectionWhat to includeWhat to leave out
Personal informationName, city and country, phone, email, one professional linkFull street address, ID number, marital status
About meTwo or three sentences: who you are, your strongest proof, what you want nextGeneric adjectives ("hard-working", "team player")
Work experienceDates, title, employer, city, then 2–4 results with numbersA copy of the job description
Education and trainingOfficial name of the qualification, institution, dates; projects if you are juniorSecondary school if you have a degree
Language skillsA CEFR level per skill, plus any certificateVague labels like "fluent" or "good"
Digital skillsA short list of named tools relevant to the roleBasic tools nobody screens for, if space is tight

The biggest difference between a weak and a strong Europass CV is how the experience and language blocks are written:

From vague to specific
VagueResponsible for the monthly sales report.
SpecificBuilt a Power BI dashboard for 14 product lines; cut the monthly report from two days to half a day.A result and a number replace the duty.
VagueEnglish: fluent.
SpecificEnglish: listening C1, reading C1, spoken interaction B2, writing B2.CEFR levels per skill are comparable across countries.
VagueGood computer skills.
SpecificExcel (Power Query) · Power BI · SQL · Python with pandasNamed tools are what employers and ATS search for.

For languages, use the CEFR self-assessment grid that Europass publishes. It describes what you can do at each level for listening, reading, spoken interaction, spoken production and writing, so you can rate each skill honestly instead of guessing.

For digital skills, the EU's reference point is DigComp, its digital competence framework, which describes what being digitally competent means in practice. You do not need to quote it in your CV; a plain list of the tools you use, ordered by relevance to the job, reads better.

How Do You Make Your Own Europass CV From an Example?

Pick the example closest to your profile and use it as a checklist, not a script. Recruiters spot copied phrasing quickly, and your numbers are what make the CV credible.

From example to finished CV
  1. 1

    Choose the closest example

Match it by career stage, not by job title: a graduate copies the graduate structure, whatever the field.

  2. 2

    List your evidence

For each role, write down one or two results with a number, a scale or a before-and-after.

  3. 3

    Rate your languages

Use the CEFR grid skill by skill and add any certificate you hold.

  4. 4

    Pick your tool

The official Europass editor, a Word template or an AI CV builder. All produce the same block structure.

  5. 5

    Cut to two pages

Delete empty blocks and old roles before you shrink the font.

If you work in Word, our list of free Europass CV templates in Word covers where to download one and how to fill it in without breaking the layout. If you already have a Europass CV and want to update it with what you learned here, follow the steps in how to edit your Europass CV.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I see an example of a filled-in Europass CV?

This article includes five complete examples: a graduate with no experience, a nurse applying abroad, a software developer, an administrative assistant and a career changer. Each one shows the exact text for every Europass section, followed by why it works.

How long should a Europass CV be?

Two A4 pages cover almost every profile. Go to three only if you are a researcher or academic with publications to list. Delete empty sections instead of shrinking the font.

What do I write in the "About me" section of a Europass CV?

Two or three sentences: who you are professionally, your strongest piece of evidence and the role you want next. Skip generic adjectives; a concrete result says more than "motivated" or "dynamic".

How do I fill in language skills in a Europass CV?

Rate each skill separately (listening, reading, spoken interaction, spoken production, writing) using the CEFR levels A1 to C2. Add any official certificate, such as a Cambridge or Goethe exam, with its year.

Can I make a Europass CV with no work experience?

Yes. Put Education and training first, describe internships and projects with results, and add volunteering or student roles that show responsibility. Example 1 above follows exactly this approach.

Do I have to use the official Europass website?

No. The official editor is free and outputs a standard PDF, but you can reproduce the same structure in Word or with another CV builder. What matters for employers who ask for Europass is the block order and the CEFR language levels.
